Electrolysis has been around for over 100 years and is still the only treatment legally permitted to be called permanent hair removal. Unlike other methods it is suitable for any hair type, skin type and any area of the face and body.
The treatment involves using a fine probe to follow the hair into its follicle and destroy it at its source, which will prevent regrowth. The hair is then released from the follicle using tweezers.
There are three different modalities of electrolysis: Thermolysis (also known as Short Wave Diathermy), Galvanic and Blend. One or all of these methods can be used for treatment, depending on the client circumstances and hair growth type.
The sensation has been described as a ‘tiny pinprick of heat’ as the hair is treated, which most clients find easily tolerable. Results are permanent and for many people, lifechanging. Treatment is tailored to you and your comfort levels, many clients look forward having ‘a nice lie down’ and love that they can see a difference with every single visit.
I offer a consultation to explain the treatment, answer any questions and perform a patch test on the area to be treated. There is no obligation: the consultation is designed so that you can make a fully informed decision on whether treatment is right for you, the individual.
Minimum treatment time is 15 minutes: maximum time depends on client requirements, hair growth, skin reaction etc. A treatment plan will be discussed and agreed together for best results.
As a member of the British Institute and Association of Electrolysis (BIAE) I am committed to upholding the highest standards of treatment and client care. This professional body requires theoretical and practical assessment to allow entry and ensure our ability to provide excellence, and we are required to continually develop and refresh our skills.
